Alain Fabien Maurice Marcel Delon (French: [alɛ̃ dəlɔ̃]; 8 November 1935 – 18 August 2024) was a French actor, film producer, screenwriter, singer, and businessman. Acknowledged as a cultural and cinematic leading man of the 20th century, Delon emerged as one of the foremost European actors of the late 1950s to the 1980s, and became an international sex symbol. He is regarded as one of the most well-known figures of the French cultural landscape. His style, looks, and roles, which made him an international icon, earned him enduring popularity.

Delon achieved critical acclaim for his roles in films such as Women Are Weak (1959), Purple Noon (1960), Rocco and His Brothers (1960), L'Eclisse (1962), The Leopard (1963), Any Number Can Win (1963), The Black Tulip (1964), The Last Adventure (1967), Le Samouraï (1967), The Girl on a Motorcycle (1968), La Piscine (1969), Le Cercle Rouge (1970), Un flic (1972), and Monsieur Klein (1976). Over the course of his career, Delon worked with many directors, including Luchino Visconti, Jean-Luc Godard, Jean-Pierre Melville, Michelangelo Antonioni, Louis Malle, and Agnès Varda.

Delon received many film and entertainment awards throughout his career. In 1985, he won the César Award for Best Actor for his performance in Notre histoire (1984). In 1991, he became a member of France's Legion of Honour. At the 45th Berlin International Film Festival, he won the Honorary Golden Bear. At the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, he received the Honorary Palme d'Or.

In addition to his acting career, Delon also recorded the spoken part in the popular 1973 song "Paroles, paroles", a duet with Dalida as the main singing voice. He acquired Swiss citizenship in 1999.

Nico had roles in films including Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita (1960) and Andy Warhol's Chelsea Girls (1966). At the insistence of Warhol, she sang lead on three songs of the Velvet Underground's debut album, The Velvet Underground & Nico (1967). At the same time, she released her debut album, Chelsea Girl (1967), composed of songs written by other musicians. At the suggestion of her friend Jim Morrison, she started writing her own material, using a harmonium, not traditionally a rock instrument. John Cale of the Velvet Underground became her musical arranger and produced The Marble Index (1968), Desertshore (1970), The End... (1974) and other albums.

In the 1980s, Nico toured extensively in Europe, United States, Australia and Japan. After a concert in Berlin in June 1988, she went on holiday in Ibiza, where she died from a cerebral haemorrhage following a bicycling accident.

يولاندا كريستينا جيجليوتي (بالإيطالية:joˈlanda kriˈstiːna dʒiʎˈʎɔtti)، (17 يناير 1933 - 3 مايو 1987) المشهورة باسم (داليدا) مغنية وممثلة إيطالية حاصله علي الجنسية الفرنسية، ولدت في حي شبرا بالقاهرة، مصر، لأسرة ذات جذور إيطالية تعود أصولها إلى شبه جزيرة كالابريا في جنوب إيطاليا.

شاركت في مسابقة ملكة جمال مصر وفازت باللقب سنة 1954. بدأت مسيرتها الفنية كممثلة في السينما المصرية، ولكن جاءت إنطلاقتها الحقيقية كمغنية في فرنسا، وغنّت بتسع لغات: العربية والإيطالية والعبرية والفرنسية واليونانية واليابانية والإنجليزية والإسبانية والألمانية.

في عام 1955 شاركت في فيلم سيجارة وكاس للمخرج نيازي مصطفى، وبعد عام واحد وقعت عقدا مع شركة باركلي للتسجيلات وأصدرت أول أغنية لها بعنوان (بامبينو) والتي حققت نجاحًا كبيرًا، صعدت إلى الصدارة بسرعة عندما حققت أغانيها مبيعات قياسية في فرنسا بين عامي 1957 و 1961. انتشرت أغانيها في عدة دول في أوروبا وأمريكا اللاتينية وأمريكا الشمالية وآسيا، كما غنت إلى جانب عدد من المطربين المشهورين آنذاك مثل خوليو إجلسياس، شارل أزنافور، جوني ماتيس، بيتولا كلارك وغيرهم.

صورت داليدا بعض الأفلام السينيمائية جنبًا إلى جنب مع مسيرتها الفنية كمغنية، إلا أن فيلم "اليوم السادس" الذي أخرجه يوسف شاهين عام 1986 كان بمثابة عودتها الحقيقية للسينما، إذ توافد ثلاثة ملايين شخص إلى حي شبرا لمشاهدة داليدا في حفل الافتتاح، وبالرغم من إشادة النقاد بالفيلم، إلا أنه فشل تجاريًا في فرنسا.

لدى داليدا أكثر من 1000 أغنية بلغات متعددة، وقد نالت العديد من الألقاب والأوسمة، كرمها الجنرال الفرنسي ديغول بمنحها لقب (La Medaille de la Presidence de la Republique) أو ميدالية رئاسة الجمهورية بسبب أدائها الرائع وصوتها المميز، وبعد وفاتها كرمتها الحكومة الفرنسية بوضع صورتها على طابع البريد، وأقيم لها تمثال بحجمها الطبيعي على قبرها في العام 2001. ما زال الكثيرون يرددون أغانيها الجميلة بشغف، تلك الأغاني التي غنتها بتسع لغات. احتلت لوائح أفضل عشر أغنيات حول العالم من كندا إلى اليابان ومن مصر إلى الأرجنتين. وفي عام 1978 كانت داليدا من أوائل الذين صوروا أغانيهم بطريقة الفيديو كليب بفرنسا. وفي مجال التمثيل لديها 12 فيلمًا.

تأثرت داليدا بشدة لوفاة شريكها لويجي تينكو عام 1967 الذي مات منتحرًا، وعلى الرغم من ذلك فقد واصلت مسيرتها المهنية في تسجيل الأغاني وأداء الحفلات الموسيقية والمسابقات، وأسست شركة للتسجيلات الدولية مع شقيقها أورلاندو، لكنها استمرت في المعاناة من نوبات الاكتئاب حتى انتحرت هي الأخرى في 3 مايو 1987.
